The Property:

Situated between Nimes and Montpellier, in the heart of the Petit Camargue, we invite you to discover this thirty hectare wine estate and its charming accommodation. Le Reportoire is a large light and bright second floor apartment which overlooks the courtyard. Mas du Notaire was named after one of its early twentieth century owners who was also a notary. It was completely restored in 2007 and its stone buildings date back to the mid nineteenth centuary. The interior has retained its traditional rustic charm with traditional locally sourced materials: Beaucaire stone, exposed beams and traditional limed walls. It has been decorated with care and attention including linen curtains, velvet bedspreads and vintage bed linens. Enter into the groundfloor entrance hall with a stone staircase, The open plan living room has a kitchen area with with electric hotplates, fridge and microwave. The dining table has seating for four. The room is furnished with a comfortable sofa and traditional antique furniture. Through the wide corridor there are two large double bedrooms and a shower room. The house is centrally heated during the winter months. Mas du Notaire is a working Vinyard producing high quality fine wines. During your stay you are invited to taste the full range of wines on offer as well as tour the state of art modern cellars and learn about the wine making process from the vineyard to your table. A washing machine, iron and ironing board are available for your use within the domaine.

The Village: Gallician

 The Village of Gallician is situated between Montpellier and Nimes in the heart of the Petit Camargue. An ideal base from which to explore the natural beauty of this unique region and experience its traditional festivals. The canal de Rhone a Sete is on the outskirts of the village, barges and boats leave from nearby Aigues Mortes on excursions throughout the Camargue. You can visit a 'manade' where bulls are reared and watch the cowboys show off their skills. The natural parkland is home to pink flamingos and a host of wildlife including the famous white horses. Horseback riding available locally along with a host of well marked cycling or walking paths.

The village has a choice of cafes and restaurants as well as a grocer and boulangerie with a far larger selection in the neighbouring town of Vauvert. The village is well known for its wine in particular the famous 'Costieres de Nimes' and you will find many opportunities to taste and buy, in particular at Mas du Notaire which has a wide range of fine wines.

 The Provencal towns of Arles and Avignon are within an easy drive and Nimes provides excellent shopping along with its Roman Arena where concerts are held during the summer months. The medieval town of Aigues Morte is not to be missed along with a visit to its famous salt producers.

Vast sandy beaches are close by at Sainte Marie de La Mer and Grau de Roi.
