The Property:

A haven of tranquility the Domaine des Rochers is set in over seven acres of gardens and woodland. Particular attention has been paid to preserving the natural habitat of this of this beautifil site. Constructed in local stone from the nearby Cevennes with enormous French oak windows. Electric shutters ensure the house is kept cool during the summer months. On two floors the top floor has an open plan kitchen and living area. Comfortably furnished with sofa and arm chairs with dining area for eight. Satellite TV with UK freeview is provided along with a DVD player and music centre for CDs. Beyond the large glass sliding windows is a large private west facing covered terrace looking across the forest to the cliffs of Cirque du bout du monde. The terrace has a dining table and chairs and sun loungers a gas barbeque is available for your use. The modern fully fitted oak kitchen with granite work tops is well equipped including eye level oven, dishwasher and central island. There is a south facing balcony off the kitchen overlooking the pool, courtyard and woodland terraces beyond. The ground floor has a double bedded master bedroom and a twin bedded room (can be made up as king size bedroom) with adjacent bathroom and WC. The front loading washing machine is situated in the groundfloor storage room. The house is let together with Les Pins during the peak season sleeping up to eight with exclusive use of the pool. The owner lives on site at the main house and is on hand if required. The full sized pool is shared with the adjacent smaller property les Pins except in July and August when the two houses are let together. Free Wi Fi internet connection, linen and final clean included. Cot, high chair and stairgate available.

The Village: Gourgas

Gourgas is a small peaceful hamlet nestling in the foothills of the Larzac Plateau. The village of Soubes is about 2kms away and has a popular cafe/restaurant as well as a general store with daily bread deliveries. The area is a favourite spot for walkers with a wide range of well marked trails through both wooded and open countryside. The village is easily accessible from the A75 motorway which takes you to the coast in only 40 mins by car. Montpellier and its International Airport is an hour’s drive. The bustling market town of Lodeve is only 15 mins away, here you will find and excellent weekly street market, weekly farmers market and many festivals and cultural events throughout the summer.
